Beach or Bust

This past weekend, Ryan and I headed down towards Delaware to kick back and relax (& try to soak up any sun possible). We drove down Friday night so we would have two full days before heading back to reality. The trip was worth the drive!

When it came to eating out, we decided to make our dinners at the house and go out for breakfast. Cooking is one of our favorite things to do, so it gave us a chance to try new recipes. Plus, eating breakfast out got us out of the house early and gave us the opportunity to enjoy the day. On Saturday, it was overcast so we spent our day shopping (until we literally dropped) and then headed out for a run. The weather was perfect since there was a breeze and the sun wasn't beating down on us. (Yes, I forced Ryan to sign up for the half marathon too). That night, we headed towards Dewey Beach to see some live music. There was a music conference being held so we were able to see a bunch of different bands at the Rusty Rudder! It was a ton of fun.

Sunday brought us right back to Dewey Beach to try brunch at The Starboard. We glanced at the menu last time we were in Delaware, but didn't have the opportunity to try it out. This time around, we were not going to miss it! I got the Jumbo Crab Skillet (Yes, I enjoy seafood with my eggs in the morning, call me crazy) and Ry got a little bit of everything on his plate, but no seafood for him. We spent the rest of our day relaxing and enjoying the sunny skies. Even headed towards the beach, but didn't venture into the water.

When we went to brunch, I wore a pair of white jeans with a halter tank from J.Crew, but since it was only in the 70s I threw on a striped J.Crew sweater on over it. Paired the outfit with my favorite pair of Jack Rogers was the best way to dress for Sunday. Never too hot or too cold!

I think it's safe to say beach season is most likely over in the Northeast, so I am glad I had the opportunity to go before it was too late!
