We drove into the city early to walk around (and get our steps in) before grabbing dinner and seeing the show. It ended up being terribly humid on Sunday, and I haven't decided if that is better or worse than getting the rain we were expecting. Wearing jeans was probably a regret since they seemed to just stick to me, but it worked out since the theater was chilly. While window shopping, we stopped in at Macy's on 34th Street. It amazes me every time with the size! I know it is the World's Biggest Macy's Store, but I still get shocked with all the floors. My mom and I ended up each buying a shirt there. By the time we got out of Macy's, we had to pick somewhere for dinner before the show, so we chose somewhere close to Time Square/Theater District. We ended up at Virgil's BBQ. It was really good! I got a BBQ Combo Sandwich and my mom got a Chicken Sandwich. (OH! AND DEFINITELY GET THE MAC & CHEESE) It was the perfect amount of food for us before the show. After dinner, we ran to the M&M's store, since my mom has a sweet tooth after dinner. Little did we know, it was essentially time for the show!
We ran to the show and got in our seats just in time! I don't want to spoil anything about this Broadway Show, but I highly recommend it. I did not know the story of Gloria Estefan, but my mom did, so we both appreciated the show. It was a real "On Your Feet" time. All the music is so fun & the show keeps the crowd engaged the whole time! As for the Estefan family? They are an inspiration for anyone!
I'm trying this "Vlogging" thing, so I made a video to show a quick recap of our day! Hope you enjoy it!!
