Mystic // Block Island

For my Mothers' 50th Birthday, we all headed up to Mystic, CT for a weekend. I have never been there before, but it was beyond what I expected! This little town is perfect for a summer night or day. We started our night off grabbing dinner at The Harp & Hound, a small Irish pub tucked away down a side street (it was perfect because we didn't make a reservation anywhere). I ordered a Lobster Roll, because I am OBSESSED with a good Lobster Roll. After that delicious meal, we had to walk off some of our food (to make room for ice cream), so we walked around the town and took a stroll in all the shops that were open. Each boutique was unique and I fell in love with all of them! After getting our steps in and watching the drawbridge in action, we grabbed some ice cream at Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream, where I tried the Wild Maine Blueberry Ice Cream and it was TO DIE FOR!!! (I need it in my everyday diet) Mystic was fantastic and I am already planning my next trip back there.

After heading back to our hotel for the night, we decided to wake up the next day and head over to Point Judith to catch the Block Island Ferry (just another place that I have not been). After taking the refreshing ferry ride, we head to a tiny beach behind the Surf Hotel to set up for the day. It was relaxing with no real waves, we could all swim without worrying about the wind being knocked out of us. Katelyn, Dana, and I headed to Ballard's for lunch, where we were able to grab lunch on the beach. Block Island was a great day trip, but next time I definitely plan on staying longer! It's just so refreshing to hop off the ferry and feel immediately stress-free in this environment. Before heading home, I grabbed some Del's & hopped on the 6pm ferry ride home.
