New Year, Same Resolutions.

Whenever a new year comes along, I think it's fair to say we all make general resolutions that we try to stick to. So I figured I would share some of mine for this upcoming year. It focuses a lot on my personal health, because I think it is good, but there is always room for improvement.

I am ready to make 2017 my year! I say this every year, but I feel great about 2017. 2016 was fantastic for me and I accomplished a lot of things I thought I would never personally do. Here are some of the (typical) resolutions I made this year:

  • More Yoga
  • Eat Clean
  • Hydration
  • Save $$$
  • Post More

All of these come with good reason. These are all things I want to improve on. Last year, I began working out a lot more. I found what I liked and what I did not back. Now I want to improve, I want to try to make the changes I started making.

More Yoga - I always wanted to practice yoga. It was a practice I admired and I became fascinated by it. When I joined my gym, I attended yoga classes once or twice a week, but fell out of it when my work schedule changed. I want to practice yoga more frequently, because I realized that practicing yoga led me to gaining better posture, becoming more flexible, and having more energy each day.

Eat Clean - I try my best to watch what I eat, but I am EXTREMELY guilty for loving the "bad stuff". This means you chips, cupcakes, and junk. I have found an alternative to a lot of the snacks I use to eat, but I am still working to create a lifestyle food plan that I will enjoy. For Christmas, I received Gwyneth Paltrow's book "It's All Easy", and I am BEYOND excited to start trying out some of these recipes. It has everything from quick snacks to extravagant meals.

Hydration - When I was training for my half marathon, I was on top of my water intake day in and day out. I never realized the benefits until after I started lacking with my water intake. Life in November and December got a little chaotic, so my water intake was all over the charts. This year I am making the (effort) to drink AT LEAST 64 oz a day. Obviously, sometimes I will drink less or more, but for the time being I will attempt this challenge.

Save $$$ - Saving money is definitely a downfall for me. I do save a majority of my paychecks, but looking back at it I always fall for the Vest on sale or say yes to going out to meet with friends. Have I tried saving in the past? Yes. Nobody is perfect though. This year, I am creating budgets for myself, putting more money into my future, and trying to better myself. I am hoping this is where I make the most improvements this year. (If anyone has ANY tips, please lend me them!)

Post More - Last Summer, I started this blogging journey. I have started blogs before, but this was my first time sticking with it and absolutely loving it! This year, I am committing myself to blogging by posting a minimum of 2 times a week, but trying to always post more than that. This blog helps me find my voice, as I take on life day by day. I am finding new interests and exploring new places. This outlet allows me to share my experiences and I would not change any of it.

2017 is going to be a good year (I hope) with a lot of changes for me.
