Did anyone say, Pizza?

I think that a Date Night is very important. It gives a couple the chance to just focus on the two of them for a few hours and talk or just enjoy each others company. Whether it is taking some extra time to get ready and go out or spending time in, the time you get to spend with each other at the end of the day is what really matters.

Friday evening, Ry and I had a "Date Night" of our own. I was going to make him dinner. (I got a Gwyneth Paltrow's Cook Book It's All Easy for Christmas and have been dying to use it!) Unfortunately, we had some errands to run so we did not get home until around 8/8:30ish. When it became this late, we were just hungry and wanted something quick. After some thought, it hit me... Pizza!

I know pizza isn't anything special, but we still got the opportunity to spend time in the kitchen together, which we both love, and both of us got to play around a bit with our recipes. We ran to the grocery market at the end of our errand run and picked up ingredients for out pizzas. Ry and I decided that we would each make our own half of the pizza and split it. That was the perfect idea! I went with a hot BBQ chicken half and his half of the pizza was a white prosciutto pizza drizzled with honey. Honestly, I do not know if I can pick and favorite because I liked both!

For dessert, Ry made some parmesan Kale Chips that were delicious (and it beat the two pieces of cake that I bought us). It was great to spend time in the kitchen together and just relax after a long week. After FINALLY eating our pizzas (around 9:30 at night) we sat ourselves on the couch and watched A Series of Unfortunate Events. We are trying to take our time getting through it since it is only 8 episodes! I recommend anyone who read the books growing up, like us, to watch the series. Netflix did a great job with it all! It really immerses you into the lives of those children.

Staying in worked out great for us! Next time, we will probably go out, but this was perfect after the week we both had.

Do you guys have any fun date night ideas?
